Privacy policy

The short version: this is a static site with no accounts, no logins and no user-submitted content. It uses two analytics tools and one ad network, and all three are named below.

What we do not collect

There are no accounts here, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to store. We do not ask for your name, your email address or any other personal detail, and there is no form on this site that sends anything anywhere.

Anything you do inside the planners stays in your own browser. Your selections are written into the page’s own web address so you can bookmark a plan or send it to someone. Nothing is transmitted as you tick boxes: there is no request to any server when the total changes, and no account, profile or saved plan on our side.

One caveat we would rather state than have you assume otherwise: because those selections live in the address itself, they form part of the page address that our analytics record. So while ticking a box sends nothing on its own, the address of the page you were on — including the plan encoded in it — does reach Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity as an ordinary page view. That is described in full below.

Advertising

Most guide and tool pages carry ads from Adsterra, the only ad network on this site. There is no Google AdSense, and there are no affiliate links or sponsored articles. The privacy policy, the terms, the contact page, the about page, the source list and the changelog carry no ads at all.

What you may see: a banner between sections of a page, a block of sponsored links near the bottom, a banner in the empty margin beside the text on a wide screen, and on a phone a small banner docked to the bottom of the screen. On the same pages, your first click may open an advertiser’s page in a new tab behind the one you are reading — a pop-under. Each banner is loaded in its own frame from this site rather than written into the page.

Adsterra and the advertisers it works with receive your IP address, browser and device details and the address of the page, and may set cookies or use similar storage to choose which ad to show, limit how often you see it, count views and clicks, and detect fraud. That is governed by their policies, not this one. None of it comes back to us as anything but totals — impressions, clicks and earnings per ad unit. A content blocker stops all of it, and the pages work the same without it.

Analytics

This site uses two analytics tools, and it is worth naming them rather than saying “we use analytics”:

  • Google Analytics 4, to count page views and see which pages people actually find useful.
  • Microsoft Clarity, which additionally records anonymised session replays and click heatmaps — so it captures where you moved and clicked on a page, not only that you visited it.

Both receive your IP address, browser, referring page and the full address of the page you are on, in the ordinary course of serving the request. We use this to work out which guides are worth writing next. We do not use it to identify individuals, we do not build advertising profiles from it, and we do not sell or share it with anyone, the ad network included.

Both are loaded only when their IDs are configured at build time; with none set, no analytics code is served at all — not disabled, simply absent. You can opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google’s browser add-on, and any tracker blocker will stop both.

Third-party embeds

Where video is embedded, it uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Poster images for those embeds load from i.ytimg.com. Loading an image or a video frame necessarily tells that server your IP address; that is a property of how the web works rather than a choice this site makes about you.

Storage on your device

Two things are remembered locally, in your browser’s own storage: whether you chose the light or dark theme, and — if you use the achievement tracker — the list of achievements you ticked. Neither is sent to us, neither follows you to another device, and clearing your site data removes both. The planners keep their state in the page address instead, as described above. On pages that carry ads, Adsterra’s scripts run as well and may keep their own cookies or storage, as described under Advertising.

Links out

This site links to Steam, to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s official pages, and to the guide sites our figures come from. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site under their policy, not this one.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are also noted on the updates page.
