Known launch issues
The game shipped with stuttering and shader-compilation crashes on PC, which the developer acknowledged in its first patch notes. Four hotfixes followed in the first week or so: 1.0.2 (three quest fixes and a PC controller sprint adjustment), 1.0.3 (DualSense support on Steam), then 1.0.4, the big one: it fixed a bug that stopped the game saving, FPS drops from controllers running outdated GameInput software, VSync problems with FSR frame generation, and a list of quests that could block progress. Then 1.0.5, which changed the shader compilation pipeline; the developer says that can fix stuttering for some users. If you are hitting stutter, check you are on the latest build before changing settings, then try the developer’s workarounds for stutter and shader crashes.
Other platforms
The Blood of Dawnwalker is also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and not on PS4, Switch or in the Game Pass library. Console versions do not publish specs, but the frame rate and resolution each console mode runs at is covered separately; this page is PC only. On PC it is sold on Steam, on the Microsoft Store as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and DRM free on GOG; the Denuvo page covers what that means. It is Windows only, with no Mac or Linux build, and Valve rates it Unsupported on Steam Deck. Once it runs, the best PC settings page covers what to set and what the menu is missing.
