Relics of a saint, and which one to burn

One of the four Arbiter armour components is a relic of a saint, and the ritual consumes it. Some of them are amulets you would rather wear, so hand over the right one.

A relic of a saint is one of the four components the Uriash blacksmith Nareh needs for the legendary Arbiter armour, alongside a lizard moult, silk threads and a flask of quicksilver. Polygon says most objects with Saint or St. in the name will do, and GameSpot says the requirement is not strict, so the question is not where to find one but which one you can afford to lose. The rest of that quest is on the Bulwark page.

Saint's Tibia

Spend this one

St. Tyna's Convent, during or after Echoes of Silenced Bells, on a body by a ladder in the courtyard. Polygon puts that ladder on the south side, in the lane between the infirmary and the library; PC Gamer says the west of the area.

Polygon says it has no other use and little value; Rock Paper Shotgun says it cannot be sold. Method calls it St Tyna's Tibia.

Relic of St. Tyna

Guides differ

The same convent, but in the sacristy — the small building with a cross on top, west of the courtyard. PC Gamer: the Monastery Keys hang in the wooden shed beside it, and the relic is on the dead nun's neck.

GameSpot grades it an epic amulet and says not to give it up; Polygon says you will find better before long, so you might as well sacrifice it. Polygon also says it strengthens your witchcraft. Brencis's soldiers ask for it too, which is the sub-quest Most Precious Thing.

Relic of St. Tobias

Spend this one

The Night of Horrors, on Lacra's questline. Game Rant describes it as the severed hand of St. Tobias; Dan Allen's video thinks you cannot miss it.

Polygon calls it a hand, and more valuable than the tibia; GameSpot files it as rare junk.

Relic of St. Dasius

Keep

Polygon and Rock Paper Shotgun: bought from Vicho once A Study in Crimson makes him a witchcraft merchant. GameSpot's Cycle of Love guide instead finds one on a bench in Xanthe's keep.

A legendary amulet, and Polygon prices Vicho's at 5,346 denarii. GameSpot's guide spells it Dassius.

How many there are is not settled

GameSpot says that if you have explored much of the valley you have probably found half a dozen. Polygon names four. Arekkz Gaming’s video says there are three options. The four above are the ones with a location attached, so carrying a spare costs you nothing if you find one.

One thread on the official subreddit runs against that. The player had gathered every component, using the tibia as the relic, and says the quest read as ready but the hand-in did nothing when they spoke to the blacksmith. Finding another relic in a camp coincided with it working; they were unsure whether the tibia had never counted or something else had gone wrong. If your hand-in refuses, a spare relic is the cheap thing to try.

Two things that are not this relic

  • St. Mihai's chalice and his silver sword. The chalice is a shortcut in A Monk and a Saint — it gives you the saint's symbol so you can skip repairing the window — and the sword is the reward of that quest. Neither appears among the Arbiter components Polygon lists. That quest is here.
  • Abelard the Sorrowful. It is not an item: it is the first line you write in charcoal on Albertus's wall to make him talk. All five lines are on the Albertus page.

Where to find one, and two common mix-ups

Where do you get a relic of a saint in The Blood of Dawnwalker?
The cheapest one is the Saint's Tibia, looted from a body by a ladder in St. Tyna's Convent during Echoes of Silenced Bells. The Relic of St. Tobias comes from The Night of Horrors on Lacra's questline, and a Relic of St. Dasius can be bought from Vicho.
Is the Saint's Tibia the same as the Relic of St. Tyna?
No. They are two different items in the same convent — Polygon, Method and two video guides all list both. The tibia is the disposable one; GameSpot grades the relic an epic amulet and says to keep it, while Polygon says you can sacrifice it.
Who is Abelard the Sorrowful?
It is the first line Coen writes in charcoal on the wall to make Albertus talk, during A Monk and a Saint — not a boss and not an item you can pick up.
